Notes for Thomas Josslyne:
This name spelled so in most records.  This was the immigrant ancestor.  He was not a passenger on the Mayflower, as his first several children were born in England.  His wife, Rebecca Marlowe died in Massachusetts in 1645.

Record in the Calendar of State Papers, Complete Book of Immigrants, 1607-1776, compiled by Peter Wilson Colham, CD#350 Broderbund. shows entry for 10 March, 1640.  Sir Fernando Gorges, Governor, appoints Sir Thomas Joscelyn, Richard Vines, Francis Champernoun, his nephew, Henry Joscelyn, Richard Bonithon, William Hooke and Edward Godfrey as members of the Council for Maine.

(Fernando Gorges received the land grant in 1635, and a Royal Charter in 1639, which gave him "feudal powers".  Gorges grant conflicted with the Massachusetts claim, which conflict wasn't settled until 1652-58.  Massachusetts purchased Gorges' claim in 1677, and it remained a part of Massachusetts until Maine was admitted as a State in 1820, under the Missouri Compromise. See Encyclopedia Britannica for further information).
