     6.  Thomas3 Vansweringen (Garrett2, David Janse1 Swieringh) was born 1665 in Dutch Colony, New Amstel,  Delaware, and died July 29, 1709 in Prince George Co., Md..  He married Jane Hyde March 11, 1686/87 in Somerset County, Md., daughter of FNU Hyde and unknown.  She was born Abt. 1669 in Delaware, and died June 01, 1716 in Prince George County, Md..

Notes for Thomas Vansweringen:
Thomas Vansweringen is the first born on this continent.  It is unclear when he dropped the 'Van' and changed the spelling of his name to 'Swearingen'.

Maryland Calendar of Wills, Vol. III, page 203:

His will filed July 29, 1709/March 9, 1711:  Eldest son Thomas and his heirs to receive plantation, 100 acres where he now lives; son Van and his heirs, 110 acres, residue of said tract; son Samuel and heirs, dwelling plantation and land at death of his mother.  If either Van or Samuel dies, his part to go to young brother John; else he is to have personalty at his majority;  His wife Jane, extra, all personal estate.  Witnesses were Ralph Wilson, Paul Brodford, Richard But.

By his will, dated 1685, Elizabeth received a house and lot in St. Mary's County, from her Godfather, Mark Cordea
