Va., and died Unknown.  She married Micajah Smithson Abt. 1753 in Cumberland Parish, Lunenburg Co., Va., son of Francis Smithson and Sarah Chiles.  He was born Abt. 1730 in Hanover Co., Va., and died Abt. July 1823 in Old Pendleton Dist., So. Carolina.

John Cox II, father of Mary Cox, names her as Mary Smithson, and a daughter, Keziah Smithson, in his will, proved in Court, September 13, 1764, Lunenburg Co., Va.

Cunningham and Co., Petersburg Store.  Micajah Smithson L21.19.3 mortgage forclosed by decree of Lunenburg Court and the land sold___March 1798, for L60.  Smithson removed ca 1790 to Georgia with all property consisting of slaves and stock."

Micajah Smithson is listed on 1810 Census for Pickens, Anderson, Oconee Counties, So. Carolina, Microfilm Roll M252, STR1 061, page 142, individuals not recorded, no Twp. recorded.  Sons Marson and Bartlett are recorded on pages 142 and 143 respectively.

In the name of God Amen.  I Micaja Smithson of Pendleton District South Carolina, being in perfect health and of Sound mind and memory, do make and ordain this my last will and testament in order following, that is to say.

1st  I recommend my Soul into the hand of Almighty God who gave it and my body to the earth, to be decently buried, and as to my worldly estate, I do will and bequeath it in the following manner.

To my Son Asa Smithson I give and bequeath all my Lands consisting of three parcels or tracts, also all my Negroes, likewise I give and bequeath to my Said Son Asa all and singular my goods and chattels of every discription of which I may die possessed.

2nd I bequeath to my Son Marson Cox Smithson one hundred dollars, also he is to remember that in the year 1798 or 9I payed him Sixty Dollars in full of all claims.

3rd.  I bequeath to Albert Francis Smithson fifty-seven Dollars with thirteen pounds Virginia money that I lent him long since if any where to be found.

4th.  I bequeath to my Son Basill Coleman Smithson one hundred Dollars if to be found.

5th and lastly I do appoint an ordain my Son Asa Smithson and David Pugh Executors to this my last will and testament placeing full and entire confidence in their fidelity and inteqrity to carry this my will into effect.

In witness hereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this twenty-ninth day of July A.D. 1822.
